Day 1: Arrive Auckland – Waiheke Island Welcome to Auckland, the city of sails. You will be met and transferred to the Downtown Ferry Terminal where you will board the ferry to Waiheke Island. On arrival on Waiheke Island you will be transferred to your accommodation. Awaiting you in your room will be an award winning bottle of Waiheke Island wine. Stay 2 nights at The Boatshed (or similar), Waiheke Island
Day 2: At Waiheke Island Today enjoy a half day Taste of Waiheke Tour where you will taste the best of Waiheke food and wine on this delicious tour. You will be greeted by your tour driver and taken first to Stonyridge Vineyard for a tour and tastings, plus a sumptuous light lunch. You will then depart for the award winning Rangihoua estate for some olive tasting, followed by a stop at Wild on Waiheke, which offers optional beer tasting as well as wine. Here, you’ll also get to sample locally produced food; olive oils and preserves. The tour concludes with tastings at the beautiful Mudbrick Vineyard whilst enjoying stunning views over the Hauraki Gulf.
Day 3: Waiheke Island – Auckland You will be transferred to the wharf where you will board the ferry back to Auckland city. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. Rest of the afternoon is at your leisure. Stay 1 night at The Westin Hotel (or similar), Auckland
Day 4: Auckland – Christchurch Transfer to the Auckland Domestic Airport (flight not included). Fly Auckland to Christchurch, the Garden city. On arrival in Christchurch collect your Full size rental car and drive to your accommodation. Remainder of your day is at leisure. Stay 1 night at The George (or similar), Christchurch
Day 5: Christchurch - Queenstown Depart Christchurch across the Canterbury Plains into the Mount Cook National park and through the spectacular Mackenzie Country to the Lindis Pass. Pass the stone fruit growing area of Cromwell and past the Kawarau Gorge with its historic gold mines to Queenstown. Stay 2 nights at The Rees (or similar), Queenstown
Day 6: At Queenstown This morning enjoy your exciting Shotover Heli Combo where you’ll jetboat the Shotover Canyons with Shotover Jet and then take a spectacular scenic helicopter flight over Queenstown to The Remarkables Mountain Range, landing at 1538 metres.
Day 7: Queenstown – Te Anau Depart Queenstown following the dramatic southern shores of Lake Wakatipu to Lake Te Anau. Remainder of day is at leisure. Stay 1 night at Dock Bay Lodge (or similar), Te Anau
Day 8: Te Anau - Fiordland You will be collected from Te Anau by coach and taken to Manapouri where you will board the Fiordland Navigator for your overnight cruise. Departing from Manapouri, begin with a cruise across the crystal waters of Lake Manapouri to West Arm before boarding a coach and crossing the alpine route of Wilmot Pass through some of Fiordland’s most dense rainforest. An onboard nature guide with specialist knowledge of the region’s history, flora and fauna provides detailed interpretation. Activities include kayaking and excursions in the tender vessels to explore the coastline. The vessel then anchors overnight in one of Doubtful Sound’s hidden arms. Dinner is included tonight.
Day 9: Fiordland - Te Anau - Queenstown There is time for further cruising before returning to Deep Cove and retracing the steps back to Manapouri and then Te Anau. From here drive back to Queenstown. Stay 2 nights at The Rees (or similar), Queenstown
Day 10: At Queenstown Early morning start to experience sunrise over the lakes and mountains from the serenity of a hot air balloon. You’ll float gently with the breeze, enjoying incredible panoramic views (weather permitting). Later this morning you will be met at your accommodation by a representative from Nomad Safaris for your 4WD sightseeing excursion. Upon conclusion of your tour you will be transferred back to your accommodation.
Day 11: Queenstown Drive to the airport where you will drop off your rental car and board your flight (flight not included).
